Ossa is not for everyone. It is for the patient who has been through two hygienists and three flossing lectures in forty-five minutes, and quietly decided there had to be another way.
We do general and cosmetic dentistry only. Implants and complex restorative work are done in partnership with a specialist of our choice, not a revolving roster.
Two hours. A full periodontal charting, digital imaging, intraoral scan, and an honest conversation about what matters and what doesn't. No upsell, no lectures.
Bonding, veneers, and enamel work done in-house by Dr. Reyes over two visits. We only take on cosmetic cases we'd be proud to photograph.
Custom-milled in our lab from a scan, not an impression. Fit verified in person. The kind of guard you'll actually wear.
In-studio plus take-home, done properly over two weeks. No UV lights and no promises about what enamel cannot do.
Adult-only clear aligner cases, typically 14 to 26 weeks. Progress reviewed in person every six weeks, never by app.
A candid review of a treatment plan you were given somewhere else. We say yes to about half of them, and no to the rest.
The studio sits above a bookshop on Mulberry. The ceilings are 14 feet, the floors are original oak from 1902, and the air changes six times an hour. You will not hear a drill from the waiting room. There is no waiting room — because nobody waits.
Every chair faces a window. Every surgery is a private room with its own door. We use loupes and a microscope, not a mirror on a stick. Your file is on paper first, then digital, because a screen is not a patient.
Dr. Mateo Reyes trained at Columbia and spent six years in a high-volume Midtown practice before opening Ossa in 2018. He sees three patients a day. Not three at a time — three in total.
His approach to dentistry is conservative, restorative when restoration is truly needed, and honest when it isn't. He will often tell you to come back in a year, or to do nothing at all.
No membership, no commitment. Pay for what you need, when you need it. Best for patients coming in for a specific thing.
Two cleanings and an exam each year, plus 15% off every other service. Our most popular way in.
You'll be met by our studio manager, not a kiosk. Paperwork was done at home. Small talk is optional.
A quick iTero scan and a CBCT. No silicone, no gauze, no bite blocks. You'll see your own mouth in 3D before you meet Dr. Reyes.
Periodontal charting, occlusal analysis, and a candid walk-through of what we're seeing on the screen beside you. You ask questions. He answers them.
Ranked by what matters, priced in writing, with anything we'd leave for now clearly marked. You leave with a printed copy and a follow-up date, not a sales pitch.
Dr. Reyes looked at a treatment plan I'd been given in Midtown for $22,000 of work, spent an hour with me, and told me I needed maybe $1,800 worth of it. I've been a patient ever since.
The best dental experience of my life and it is not close. I've never had a dentist explain a single thing before. Now one has explained all of them, once, and I don't have to come back for a year.
I walked in for veneers. I walked out with a plan for bonding on two teeth that cost a quarter of what I'd been quoted elsewhere, and it looks better than my friend's veneers. He talked me out of his own most expensive service. That tells you everything.

We are a fee-for-service studio, which means we are out-of-network with all insurance plans. We provide an itemized superbill at every visit and most PPO plans will reimburse 40–70% of your cost. We do not file claims on your behalf, but our front desk will walk you through it the first time.
A new-patient visit is $495. A standard cleaning and exam follow-up is $280. Most simple restorative work (fillings, night guards) falls between $380 and $900. We disclose every fee in writing before we do anything.
Because the insurance model reimburses us for doing the fast thing, not the right one. Leaving insurance let us go from eight patients a day to three, and from seven-minute cleanings to ninety-minute visits. That is the whole reason Ossa exists.
For patients of record, yes — usually within 24 hours. For new patients in true emergency, we will see you if we can, but we'll often refer you to a nearby colleague rather than squeeze you in badly.
For established patients, yes. For new patients, we require a full exam first — you cannot skip it. We can't responsibly clean a mouth we haven't looked at.
We do not. We partner with one endodontist, one oral surgeon, and one periodontist whose work we trust. We coordinate and oversee the case. You get a specialist, but it still feels like Ossa.
We take a small number of new patients each month. A short call comes first, to make sure Ossa is the right fit.
